Washington, also known as the "Evergreen State", has immense mountains and lush forests. Most people live in the western part of the state, near the Puget Sound area.
Seattle is the largest city in Washington. It is the home of the Space Needle and a monorail, both of which were built for the 1962 World's Fair.
Mount Rainier is visible from 100 miles away. It is also one of the world's biggest volcanoes, and last erupted about a century ago. Olympic and Cascades mountains is where most of the rain falls. All that moisture nourishes a unique temperate rain forest thickly carpeted with ferns and mosses.
