CRIMEA
Sevastopol is a port city located on the southwestern coast of the Crimean peninsula on the shores of the Black Sea.

In March 2014 a sudden local referendum was held in Crimea (including Sevastopol). The result was that most residents supported separating from Ukraine and joining Russia. The results of the referendum were not recognized by most countries and especially Ukraine. However the Russian parliament and president have agreed that all of Crimea, including Sevastopol, should join the Russian Federation. While this status is not recognized by most of the world, the city is currently a de facto part of Russia, and can only be entered by following Russian visa requirements. The Russian ruble (RUB) is the primary currency used and Russian laws are enforced.
